Natural Beach Themes

Living on the Sunshine Coast beach weddings are very popular.

I love the idea of using natural colours and themes and that it doesn't have to include bright colours and flowers to be beachy.

We created this cake for a wedding this weekend at Bulcock beach Caloundra. The reception was held at Tides Restaurant overlooking the water on a stunning day.

Loved the use of twine on this cake to keep with the natural tones.

Shells have been created with sugar paste and are all edible.

The cake is chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache and finished with sugar paste decorations.

Mel and Duncan's colourful Easter Wedding

1:59 PM Skye Howe 0 Comments

Mel and Duncan were married on Easter Saturday this year in what turned out to be a dry and gorgeous ceremony although it had rained most of the week.

Mel and Duncan's sense of fun shone throughout their gorgeous 50's carnival style wedding.

Photographer at Large captured these stunning images so perfectly. As you can see colour was a huge inspiration for them and was used beautifully throughout the venue of The Yacht Club Mooloolaba with these gorgeous coloured jars and flowers.

Photographer At Large also took these gorgeous photos of our cake. The colour scheme for the cake was based purely on the bunting which was hand made by a darling friend of mine Heather after Mel picked the gorgeous colour scheme.
The sugar paste bride and groom were made to match Duncan and Mel as close as I could right down to her sparkling silver shoes.

I enjoyed creating these sugar paste accents for this cupcake tower with little things like stripes and spots incorporated in the fondant. Cute little striped pinwheels and spotted ruffles delicately hand made with lots of love. The cakes were chocolate mud and white chocolate mud with vanilla buttercream and the cutting cake Red velvet with white chocolate ganache and finished in sugar paste.

Thanks for stopping by :) Skye
